Rare SandyR5 Posted May 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2004 Hi - We plan on getting off the ship and finding our way to the Harbour Hopper. How often do they run? How long is the trip? Is there a website? Hope someone can help. Thanks. When we arrived in Halifax there were a few spots open but we decided to do something else. It looked like a lot of fun but if you really really have your heart set on it I'd contact them early about booking or plan to do as shore tour.. there is info at www.halifaxinfo.com and on this website which is specifically for the "hopper": http://www.murphysonthewater.com/hopper.html Host Caroline <font SIZE="1">Join me on the beautiful Diamond Princess in July 2005 for Cruise Critic's Awesome Alaskan Adventure --You'll have a whale of a good time! Sept 04-Royal Hounds Mariner of the Seas Feb 05-Partae Pirates Carnival Miracle One can never have too many days at sea..</font>
Rare SandyR5 Posted May 26, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 26, 2004 Thanks Caroline - I just e-mailed them. It's interesting that Voyager of the Seas doesn't have any excursion that includes the Harbour Hopper. I would think it would be a very popular excursion! Host Caroline Posted May 27, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2004 That is odd.. unless there are other ships in port that day or maybe Royal Carib doesn't have a contract with them?? hmm... Carnival did. Hopefully you can book ahead if they aren't holding space for the cruise ship passengers like they were the day we were there last Sept. C-Lark Posted July 25, 2004 #5 Share Posted July 25, 2004 We did this activity last year. Had read about it beforehand and it sounded good. There were four of us and we were very pleased that we booked it ourselves as soon as we arrived in Halifax. Although it was not listed in the ships tours there were quite a few people interested in it. The amphibious vehicle traveled around to all the scenic and historical places (Some places were hilly and could be a bit taxing if one were to walk.) Then the vehicle enterered the water and toured the shoreline. there also was a person who acted as a commentator to explain all the sights. Its a 5 *.
