Westin Long Beach

has anybody ever stay here?

what is there to do for a couple of mid 20-ers :cool:

Have only been to meetings and meals there, but Westin Long Beach is a very nice hotel. You are in walking distance of Pine Street which has probably 8-10 nice restaurants, couple of clubs, movie theatre, etc.

i've heard that some areas in long beach aren't very safe...i hope the westin isn't in one of these areas.

Not that there might not be a couple of homeless in the downtown area, but if you stay within a 6 block radius of your hotel, you should be perfectly safe. Seedy area is about 9 blocks to the north.

Stayed at the Westin Long Beach last year as a female traveling alone. Walked over to Pine Street to eat in the evening (went to a Mexican restaurant--good, not great) and walked back afterwards with no problems. Didn't see a lot of nightlife like bars and dancing, but wasn't looking either--they're probably there. Other places along the road running parallel to the beach in the oppositve direction from Pine Street. In morning walked up and back to Starbucks, again no problem. Staff at Westin was pretty good at giving advice on what to do, where to go.

There is a ton of clubs on Pine Ave. If you are into blues at all, check out the blue cafe. The area around the Westin is all pretty nice.

This hotel looks to be pricey. Anyone know if there are specials to be had here?
