Hotel - Port of Houston

Hi,

I am taking a cruise out of port of houston and need to come in a day early to get free tickets. Any thoughts on where to stay? Should i stay near the port? Downtown? near the airport? Trying to minimize the amount of money i need to psend to transfer between places.. don't want to rent a car.

We stayed at the South Shore Harbour Resort and loved it. They have the $88 cruise special, including breakfast buffet for two. Great place to stay.
