Manhattan Cruise Terminal Anxiety

I am a bit confused about the taxi drop-off process at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal.

I have read several posts indicating the check in is on street level, second level, elevator up, elevator down.

Does the taxi drop off on the second level, then we take our luggage down to level one to drop it off with the porters, then return to the customs hall on level 2?

It's been a couple of years since we were last there but IIRC there were porters there to meet those who were being dropped off.

I'm not sure how Viking will handle it. I've taken other cruises out of the Manhattan cruise terminal but not Viking - though I would love to.

We will be leaving from there in less than a month but sadly not on a Viking cruise.

Drop off was painless. Cars/taxis were directed at port entrance. Long line coming up West Side Highway to turn into port.

Tell vehicle to drive across on 57th Street.
