RC Travel Insurance?

Recommended Posts

I posted this in another thread, but figured it would better to start my own. I am looking into travel insurance right now. My final payment is March 31st. I can re-price my families cruise at today's sale and save enough to purchase the RC insurance ($404) and end up at the same price. I would have to switch from refundable to non-refundable, but I am less than a month away from final payment anyway.

Do any of you have any recommendation about the RC Insurance? Is there any other 3rd party provider that would give me the money back as opposed to a future cruise credit? Do you think I should reprice and purchase the RC insurance?

Any help is appreciated.

Scott

The advantages of Royal's insurance are that the premium is not age based, you are covered for air if you purchase air via Air2Sea, and you get 75% credit back for cancelling for a non-covered reason.

For us, the disadvantages are low emergency evac coverage amd no coverage for 3rd party air.

These are good links for 3rd party insurance:

If you need to cancel for a covered reason, you would be refunded in full.

Also Royals Cruise Care does not cover pre existing conditions. Being late purchasing, this would be in effect for most others too.

Royals coverage is pretty poor too compared with others. Shop around
