Your cruiseline might have a scheduled tour of the area (or the Everglades!) that might be fun, and will take care of the baggage issue. You may not be able to check your bags that early.

Alternatively, you could rent a car for 4-6 hours and tour on your own. For $25 or so you can probably get some wheels, put the bags in the trunk, and go exploring, if you can afford the gasoline!

You will NOT be able to check your luggage at the airport that far ahead of your flight. 3 hours maximum,
Consider renting a car and driving round to various places what you spend in cab fares will pay for your rental for the day. Plus you will have a safe place to store your luggage until your flight.
