Passport question...

How do you get a passport? We have always used our birth certificates and drivers license, but want to get passports now. Also, we have 2 little kids (ages 1 and 2 1/2) and we are taking them on their first cruise next year...can we get them passports now as well?

Thank you!

Many U.S. post offices process passports. When you go to your post office ask if they process passport applications, or where the nearest post office that does. After you get the applications, you need to get your passport pictures taken and then come back in person with the application, the fee, and the picture. Traveling with a passport makes life so much simpler, it is worth it. And, yes, the children can get passports, and it is a good idea.

You also will need your birth certificate and a photo ID with your current address. The PO will take your birth certificate and mail it in with the application. The passport office sends the b/c back with the passport.

You can get passport pictures taken at WalMart (and any other place that has a photo center), or AAA or Walgreens.

You should take cash or a check - they only take a credit card for one part of the fee.

You can also download the forms off the Passport website. I'm sure someone will provide that link for you.
