Shuttle Help...

My hubby and I are first time cruisers, we are wondering what the best way to get from the Miami airport to our ship in Miami, I've heard of a shuttle service they have that will take you from the airport to your ship directly...is this still around? do people use it often or is a taxi the better way to go?

Did you purchase the ship's transfers? Sometimes it's included in the price of the cruise and sometimes you have to purchase it separately. Call your TA and ask if transfers are included. If not, you can take a cab or hire a private car to the port. If you do have the transfers, a rep from the cruise line will meet you in baggage claim, show you where to take your luggage and you board a bus and go to the ship.

HTe taxi cab will be the fastest and easiest way to get from the airport to the port of Miami. With the shuttle you will have to wait til all the passengers load their luggge and get on the bus. With a taxi you and your party will be at the pier waiting to get onboard while the shuttle is still loading passengers.

Thank you for your replies....if we do take a taxi, how will we know exactly where to tell the driver to go to get to our ship...will that information come when our cruise info comes in the mail?

The taxi driver already knows what ships routinely doc at which piers. Just tell him / her the name of the ship. If it's out of the norm, your docs will let you know & then you can tell the driver that address/ location.
