Princess and their air?

I am looking to cruise on the Carribean Princess in Feb. Comparing this cruise to the Millie, it seems like Princess charges much more for air than Celebrity. Being up here in this snowbelt, I thought I would book with the cruiseline and then see if I can find something cheaper and go down a day early. Can anyone enlighten me on why such a big difference in air costs? Thanks! icon_confused.gif

It's like anything else the ship sells on behalf of an outside vendor ... it's marked up to cover their costs plus profit. I have only booked cruise line air one time, and that was for an open-jaw flight overseas when the cruise line got a better rate than I could. For this fall's trip, however, I was able to buy our open-jaw flight for $300 less per person than what the line charged.

It's just one of those things where you have to do your homework to see what the better deal is.

When I first saw the subject I thought like the Where do they get their water from. This one was where they get their air.

Being in the "snowbelt" myself, I am planning on going a day early and purchasing travel insurance. It will be cheaper than what Princess was offering and I can set my own fly times.
