arlenemilt Posted April 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2004 We were invited to visit/tour and have lunch on the Caribbean Princess. This ship is almost exactly like the Grand and Golden, except that they've added a 14th floor (really #13) of passenger cabins, so the Lido (Horizon Ct) is now on deck 15. The aft Royal Lounge is called Fusion; looks good- has hanging tv screens. Area that was alternative Southwestern restaurant is Sterling Steakhouse. Otherwise, everything else looks about the same. roe2ship Posted April 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2004 Thank you for posting. Were you able to take any pictures? How about the movie screen feature? Anything else you would like to share? Caribbean Princess 7/03/
arlenemilt Posted April 11, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted April 11, 2004 Nope. No pictures. The movie screen in the pool area looks interesting. Can't say more, because it wasn't doing anything except advertising itself (w/o sound). Arlene
mandiecandie5 Posted April 11, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2004 Arlenemilt- Did you get a chance to look at the spa at all? If so please tell me what you thought about it! ~Thanxs
ilovhywd Posted April 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2004 We were also onboard for lunch today. Lunch was delicious, but then we spent an hour trying to find an open cabin to look at. Wouldn't you think they would have had some open cabins in different categories for visitors to look at since they are trying to promote the ship? Fortunately, we ran into some people we knew who were boarding and they invited us into their minisuite on Deck 9 which was lovely. Later we found a room steward who opened a regular outside cabin for us on Deck 8 which was fine except for a slightly obstructed view. We spent so much time trying to find open cabins that we didn't have an opportunity to see many of the public areas.
arlenemilt Posted April 11, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 11, 2004 Hello again........ We, on the other hand, looked at all cabins. What we did when we got on was NOT go to their diningroom lunch. We toured the ship first; on our own. All cabin doors were open, so we saw every possible type. We also saw a very interesting inside configuration on the 14th deck (Riviera). We were invited into a PS suite by a couple already on board; lovely, if you want to spend the xtra $$$. Lunch was great, in the Horizon Court. We have previously been invited to these ship luncheons and don't want to waste time having a sit-down lunch. I presume we missed a glass of wine; didn't need it anyway. And, didn't need to be introduced to various staff members either. We're Elite - we know Princess. As for the spa.........sorry....didn't think about it. We usually head for the gym first to check out the equipment, but since we weren't staying (boo hoo) we just meandered and did our own thing. We also saw some interesting art work. I'm sure the same stuff will be on our next Princess cruise. Arlene
