river_sand_bar2 Posted December 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2006 I see everyone posting above water pictures, but not too many below the surface. I would have to think there are some GREAT shots by divers and snorkelers out there.... lets see them... here are a few of mine.

Mine never look this good! You're right. I've always felt that disposable camera produce disposable photos. Most of us are using housed digital cameras. I'm using an Olympus C5050 in an Olympus housing.

cruzegirl Posted January 8, 2007 #13 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Wow.... What great photos...... Awesome....... Bruce, Technique wise, how do you get such photos of a shrimp like that??? Unreal. I can't find those type of critters.... They escape me....... lol...... Here's some of mine A Bat Ray in the Kelp Forrest of California A Spanish Shawl, a Nudibranch found in California And here's a recent one from Costa Maya.... It's a Grey Angelfish
bruce-r Posted January 9, 2007 #14 Share Posted January 9, 2007 Bruce,Technique wise, how do you get such photos of a shrimp like that??? Swim really slowly and look closely at all the anemones you find. Lots of stuff likes to live in/by anemones. Sometimes you can find small stuff by looking for larger stuff they like to use for habitat. Take lots of photos when you find that special something so you'll be more likely to get a "keeper". Also, I use Photoshop Elements to "help out" some less than perfect images.
rebeljohn Posted January 12, 2007 #15 Share Posted January 12, 2007 While snorkeling in Roatan, we can upon a small octopus, that was VERY camera shy. He would hide behind the rocks, and always kept something between him and us. When he finally poked his head around a rock, I snapped this picture. http://travel.webshots.com/photo/1134326059041895530DpPEYf

I just love that photo....My problem is I get so excited at all the things I see that I randomly take photos.. I'm really trying to work at being more specific or focusing in on certain things.. But taking my time.... I guess it's still "new diver" syndrome..... lol...... Here's a couple more I just took on my cruise....
