Hydrokitty Posted October 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2009 I'm in the early stages of planning my dream trip to Alaska and have come to the conclusion that Cruise West fits my needs best. Has anyone taken the Coastal Odyssey tour with Cruise West? What were the unincluded "extras" and how much should I expect to pay for them? Which tours did you take that were worth it and which ones weren't? I won't consider a large cruise ship as DH and I prefer small ship cruising. Can't wait to get your input. Thanks:)
PennyAgain Posted October 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2009 I haven't taken this YET but plan to. I'm dreaming over the brochures right now. New brochures I just received. I've seen CruiseWest's ships in Alaska and have thought about this for a long time.
Budget Queen Posted October 15, 2009 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2009 If the Cruise West website doesn't have a shore excursion list, then go to any of the major cruiseline shore excursion list. Prices will be similar, and the list will be available to you by either Cruise West, or independent. Narrow down your interests, determine your budget. Few tours aren't worthwhile, if you are interested. There are hundreds of options to consider, and no point in suggesting "my" favorites. :) Your extras will be tips, ballpark $12/per day per person. May be for drinks- will be listed in the brochure/website.
