hotwire ratings??

A 3 star airport hotel is fine. Most of the star rating is based on the hotel facilities...does it have a bar, restaurant, pool, gym etc. ? Head to biddingfortravel or betterbidding and you'll see which 3 star hotels are most often used in the area you are interested in.

I've used hotwire often and never been let down.

Are the star ratings used by hotwire reliable? We are not fussy but want a clean place. Is it safe to choose a 3 star near the airport for a one night precuise stay or go with a 4 star? We can't use price line because there are 4 of us.

Hotwire's ratings are used for amenities only and not the condition of the facility. Generally speaking, three and four star hotels are not dumps but it is possible.

One the only things that separates a three and a half from a four star hotel is 24 hour room service. So if a property only has room service from 6AM to 2AM, they cannot be labled a four star but may be one of the nicest resorts in the destination.
