Oasis Eastern excursion info??

Hi. The Jost Van Dyke excursion in St. Thomas looks great but it says all guests must have and carry valid passports. Is this common for excursions? When would be presenting our passports??? I dont understand why we need them.

 

Also, the Desert Island Escape on St. Maarten looks good except for the 2 hour sail... that's 4 hours total in transportation time! Is it just me or does that sound tooooo boring??

You will need your passport because you will be leaving the US (Virgin Islands) and entering the British (Virgin Islands) and then returning.
