Perhaps this provides some insight into why we had 500 diamond members on our recent TA.

well I am not ashamed to say I booked a 3 day cruise when I was exactly two credits short of diamond. I had another cruise already booked on FOS and I was happy to get those extra points before that cruise.

You did the right thing..and no one should be ashamed of how they managed to get to each and every level...The only ones who should be ashamed is RCCL for decreasing benefits to loyal cruisers....JMHO

I booked the 2 Day JS to get 2 Cruise Credits and am now Diamond. I have also been on five 7+ day cruises where I only received 1 credit. I am loyal to RCCL, I typically "bring along" a group of family and friends that result in additional cabin bookings for RCCL and I spend a crap load of money on the ship/casino! I won't criticize (or really even care) how one gets their status. Go and have fun!!

It just shows that a whole bunch of folks followed the rules and made it to Diamond/Diamond Plus. Can't fault the people if RCI made it rather easy to do.
