Cruise Director Change?

Reading info today that Richard Spacy has assumed is duties as CD on the Jan 2nd sailing. Anyone know if this is fact or fiction?:o

I'm on that cruise, and Ken Rush is still CD. He hosted the parade last night, and is listed on the "Who's Who" paper given to us at embarkation. To be fair, I didn't make it to the Welcome Aboard show, so maybe Richard was there, but as far as I know, Ken is still CD at this time.

I was just wondering, Does the Cruise Director really come up with all the onboard activity ideas, or is it actually some person in a corporate office somewhere? I ask to get an idea of how much a cruise director impacts my cruise other than seeing him or her in the role of MC.

At the Meet and Mingle today, Ken said that he would be CD until Jan 30th, the Richard Spacey for 2 months, then Ken for 2 months, and then Richard for 4 months as the full time regular CD. Hopefully this clears the confusion up.

I was hopeful that Richard would be CD for the New Years cruise, but we did have Ken. We have sailed with him numerous times. He was very good, we all like him. However, I must say he seems ready for a break. 25 years of being a CD .....he seems slightly burnt out.

 

I look forward to sailing next time with Richard .
