emilee Posted January 4, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2010 Hello, just wondering if anyone has done a stopover in another city while taking advantage of the free air on their way to the embarking cruise port. They are offering a great deal for September including air but we need to be in Amsterdam before we leave from Venice. Thanks - Emilee
spook1 Posted January 4, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2010 I suggest you ask a TA or SS so you're assured of the correct answer..
TheFerret Posted January 4, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2010 In my experience, probably not. I recently asked my travel agent this question, and got a "no".
spook1 Posted January 4, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2010 Correct. The point is questions such as this are best not directed at a general CC readership.
Emtbsam Posted January 5, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2010 When I asked mine the same question, I was told that I could make a deviation, but that I would have to pay an additional $100. That policy may have changed since I asked. so you should definitely ask your TA.
Susan07470 Posted January 5, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2010 What about leaving early? I want to spend several days before the cruise departs in Hong Kong. I am toying with taking the $1000 and booking the flight myself that way I can control the length of my trip and the carrier. Any thoughts? Wellseasoned Posted January 5, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Of course, ask your TA or Silversea. But if you want current experience, my son has just booked a free air voyage on the Spirit for next August. He asked to depart 4 days early and return 4 days late. This cost a $100 administrative fee, that's it! And greetings from the Silver Spirit transatlantic!
