cmdknw Posted January 11, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2010 I plan on doing a cash deposit, but do not plan on spending much on board. The carnival website says that there is a minimum deposit of $200, will they accept a cash deposit of less? I don't plan on spending anywhere close to that amount and don't want to tie up funds on that when I don't plan on using it! Thanks so much! manonreal Posted January 11, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2010 I have called Carnival last Friday for the same question since I'm leaving in February and they do accept cash deposit cause I feel the same way as you I rather have cash. If you don't spend the whole amount they will give you the money that is left in a form of a chq.
cmdknw Posted January 11, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2010 I know they accept cash deposits. My question is can I deposit $100 instead of the "recommended" $200? I don't plan on spending $200 and had rather have the money for ports. Obviously if I've put the money on the S&S card, I can't use it in ports. Thanks! soozles Posted January 11, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2010 Don't forget that $10 a day goes towards tipping, so for a 7 day cruise, you're looking at $70 right there. So if you only deposited $100, that would only leave you $30 to spend on the cruise.
manonreal Posted January 11, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2010 No, they ask for the full 200$ just in case not less...Sorry
cmdknw Posted January 11, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted January 11, 2010 We have pre-paid gratuities. Not sure if that makes a difference or not! I'm still hoping to stimulate the economy a little in ports! lol K
