Venic post-cruise hotel

We're looking for a small hotel in the 80-110 euros range for a double with breakfast, within walking distance (we're active walkers) of Saint Mark's

anyone have a place they've tried and would recommend.

That's a very tough order to fill given high hotel prices in Venice. When we were in Venice on a land trip, we stayed at the Hotel Scandinavia (http://www.scandinaviahotel.com/). It has 33 rooms and is about a five-minute walk from St. Mark's. It's on an interesting plaza. However, there is no elevator, and it can be a long hike to the upper floors. The rooms were OK but certainly not outstanding. It's a bit above your price range--how much depends on when you will be there--but was the best value we could find. It served us well as a base for exploring Venice for several days.
