Going on a 12 day cruise from Galveston to Galveston, with 5 or so stops. I hear you need some 1 dollar bills to tip room service etc. What about buying stuff ashore? At some place like the beach in Costa Maya. Do they take us dollars. Same in Montego Bay and Grand Cayman.:confused:

all your ports will accept the american dollar. The reason you bring smaller bills is a lot of small vendors will tell you they dont have change. But dont take tons of 1's take 5 and 10s too. Some of the larger stores will take credit cards.

 

Tipping room service with dollars coz you cant sign for the tip on your sign and sail card.
