emerald777 Posted January 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Going on the Repo out of Barbados on Sea Princess 1 May. We've done Caribbean, Crown and Emerald. This is the first time on this class. What are the food options? Is there an International Cafe? Wine Bar? Caribe Cafe? What is the same/different as the other classes? Any recommendations? Thanks! Totally different class of ship then what you have sailed in the past. But the Sun Class has always been our favorite overall. No Cafe Caribe, only the Horizon Court (no space to add the cafe to this class of ship). No International Cafe either, for the same reasons, not enough room to add, but there is a coffee bar which serves a few pastries and cookies. Wine Bar? I am sure there is a type of one, but can't remember where. Sterlings Steakhouse does not have a designated area/dining room on the Sea Princess, they close off a section of the HC in the evening for the Steakhouse. No Sabatinis or Crown Grill onboard either. Sorry. BUT, it does have one great addition the larger ships don't offer, and that is the small pizza restaurant that is located midship and overlooks the atrium. I can't remember if on the Sea the name is Verde's or if I am confusing that name with one of the other Sun Class ships. Sit down style (no pizza at the pool on the Sea Princess), and the pizza restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner, for dinner it has a few more offerings including dessert. They will deliver to your stateroom for a $3 charge, but they do not offer any type of carry outs directly from the restaurant. One other thing that you will notice on the Sea Princess is that they have cut their small casino in half. One side is set up with tables for board games/cards. Since this ship is targeted to the UK, they found that those passengers enjoy playing board games and cards more than gambling, so the casino is quite tiny in comparison to the larger ships and other Sun Class ships. Enjoy your cruise!

And thanks trikeman for the post with the memory jogger. The pizza restaurant is Cafe Corniche, it must have been the sun princess that had Verdes. SilentTraveller Posted January 16, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2010 That's funny, I thought it was Verde's too. I wonder if they changed the name... Anyway, one thing about the pizza restaurant is that it is a restaurant and not a takeaway pizza place like other ships. They do not have pizza by the slice, and they don't have "regular" pizza like pepperoni. The pizzas are more gourmet style and you get the entire pizza. They also have salads and pasta dishes and even desserts. I personally did not like the restaurant. One of my favorite things about the other ships is just grabbing a slice of pizza for lunch or a lite dinner. But that is just my preference, to me pizza is just a slice on the go and not a sit down dinner affair.

Double this, or extra that, even plain cheese and pepperoni (which is my all time favorite). Had it many times and I am sure it was listed on the menu also. ;) They do list different pizzas also on the menu, but you can actually order them with any toppings you prefer. ;)

As I am a single traveler and wanted pizza for lunch or dinner, I would have to order an entire pizza instead of a slice or two or three? I wonder if they would have different sizes of pizza for single peoples or larger ones for families. I guess I could FORCE myself top eat an entire pizza, and then hibernate for the next couple of days on the way to Aruba.

They are smaller individual sized pizzas that are served. Not the size you find on the larger ships that are by the slice. :)

emerald777 Posted January 18, 2010 Author #11 Share Posted January 18, 2010 Thanks to everyone for your responses! I absolutely love Princess Pizza. I had a slice every afternoon on the Emerald..... Even though those on the Sea Princess are shaped differently, I hope they are the same recipe!
