The town of Guavate is THE place to go if you want Lechoneras. Last time I was in the San Juan area I recall seeing some along the route to the rainforest and around Pinones but I didn't stop...bad decision. Headed back in a few weeks and making the Sunday drive up to Guavate for sure.

that one is a restaurant that serves and cooks lechón the same way lechoneras do but i would not label that a lechonera although it really is the closest thing to a lechonera without having to travel 1 hour to find one. to experience typical lechoneras, outdoor restaurants, music and the whole experience you need to travel to the country side, guavate is one of those famous places.
