somoremoney Posted January 21, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2010 Any Good lechonaras in or near San Juan?
rasta Posted February 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2010 The town of Guavate is THE place to go if you want Lechoneras. Last time I was in the San Juan area I recall seeing some along the route to the rainforest and around Pinones but I didn't stop...bad decision. Headed back in a few weeks and making the Sunday drive up to Guavate for sure.
rainforestgirl Posted February 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2010 I have "heard" (but have not been in to check it out myself) that there is a new Lechonera opened in OSJ, close to Pier 4 (somewhere by the Sheraton).

Suppose to be right behind the Sheraton. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3158716&id=296246394191 that one is a restaurant that serves and cooks lechón the same way lechoneras do but i would not label that a lechonera although it really is the closest thing to a lechonera without having to travel 1 hour to find one. to experience typical lechoneras, outdoor restaurants, music and the whole experience you need to travel to the country side, guavate is one of those famous places.
