booth22 Posted January 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2005 Has someone who has done the Orca's Cove excursion with Kayak Ketchikan descrbie how easy/difficult the paddling is? It says no experience neccessary, but we were wondering how difficult it will be. Any info will help. Thanks in advance!
Budget Queen Posted January 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 18, 2005 I have gone with Southeast Kayaks and indeed it is just about for anyone. :) Very very scenic but don't expect wildlife except birds. Anything else will be a bonus. It's a wonderful excursion and one of my top picks.
jrask Posted January 18, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2005 They get orcas on very very very few trips, so don't expect it. Bald eagles flying overhead, swooping down to the water and sitting on beaches you paddle by are a good bet. If at the right time, you'll have salmon jumping all around you. You also may get some intertidal life (jellies, star fish, etc).
