Cruising with Fibromyalgia?

Recommended Posts

I'll be going on my first cruise (to Alaska), and I have a mild case of Fibromyalgia. Other than common sense things (bring necessary meds, get enough rest, etc.), any hints from "fibromites" on taking a cruise and steps you took to make your cruise extra-comfy for you? (Like request a foam mattress pad for your bed, etc.)

Thanks,

DH gets fibro, which for him is brought on by disturbed sleep (not sure if that is the universal trigger?). He makes sure he has some sleeping pills, takes ear plugs (first cruise, person on the other side of the wall had a terrible cough that kept us up, so he learned), that kind of thing. He doesn't do anything else special for it that I'm aware of.

However you manage it on land is how you can expect to manage it at sea. I very much hope you do not get a flareup while on a cruise so you can enjoy the whole experience pain-free.
