Christmas Air Travel

We are booked on a Christmas cruise out of FLL. (family group of 7) Airfares seem extremely high if I book right now. So would you bite the bullet and book early to get the flights you want and assume Christmas season prices won't go down? Or is it better to wait and take our chances on discounts as the year goes by? I know it is a wild guess, but many of you are much more experienced with it than I am. i'd appreciate your opinions. thanks.

Since you give no cities, no specific dates, no prices, nor anything else other than FLL and "Christmas season".....I'll just say to take a look at FareCompare and their historic charts.
