Rhapsody - Anyone used a US dollar cash passport at the onboard ATM?

It's me again,

I have chosen the Rhapsody for my cruise mainly because we have a US$ Cash Passport (which looks like an eftpos card) loaded with US dollars that is 'left over' from a trip to the states last April. We bought the money at an exchange rate of 0.67c so I am not keen to cash it in now when it is hovering around the 0.90c.

I came up with the 'brilliant' idea of going on a US cruise that has an ATM that dispenses US dollars as a way of accessing the money. Rhapsody is one such cruise I believe. I have been told by the cash passport people that it should work, but I want to know if anyone else has tried it.

It is not the debit card version, otherwise I could perhaps use it to shop online in the US and spend the money that way.

Anyone out there done this??? Even my T/A wasn't 100% sure, but checked with Royal Caribbean and said it should be OK. An iron clad guarantee would set my mind at rest.

Thanks all,

Ally
