POA - Aft deck 10 ?

We missed our POA cruise this week, due to not being able to fly with the snow storms in the East. On that cruise we were to have an aft balcony on Deck 7.

Today we rebooked the Hawaiian cruise for May and the only Aft balcony we could get was on Deck 10. I have read a few negative comments about being under the Aloha Cafe. For those of you who have been in an aft cabin on Deck 10, is it really that bad?

Grandma,

The only thing that "blew down" onto our balcony in 10180 was an Equal packet 3 times.

When underway you could hear nothing from the deck above (outdoor buffet) (except oos and ahs during volcano viewing).

During breakfast the only thing I could hear from the balcony was the amplified port talk by the Hawaiian Ambassador. I went up the next morning to hear it "in person" and found I could actually hear it more clearly from my balcony because people were talking at tables nearby.

But because I could hear it does not mean it was loud. My daughter was still sleeping and never heard it inside the cabin. If I had not been interested in the subject matter I probably would have not noticed it, either.

I enjoyed the cabin and especially the huge balcony.

We have one of the aft Suite 10 balconies booked for our POA cruise, too. Although we haven't cruised in a POA cabin under the Great Outdoors Cafe, we have cruised on the NCL Sun in an aft cabin directly under its Great Outdoors Cafe. Believe me, if the noise had bothered us, we wouldn't have booked another cabin in the same location. We also booked a similar cabin for our last cruise on the NCL Jewel, but we received an upsell call and moved to a cabin elsewhere. It was almost hard to give up that aft location, even for a suite (Not! :D)

Really, don't worry about that location.

I also have two Deck 8 afts booked for May 2011. I was surprised to see they have been recategorized to a B1 - with a significant price jump! I am so glad we booked early and have the lower price guaranteed. I have had aft cabins on RCI's Radiance Class a couple of times and those were great. Love the aft views and am so glad we got them for Hawaii, too.
