buelah111 Posted February 20, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2010 I'll be renting a car in May to drive from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale for a repositioning cruise. I'll be staying the night somewhere along the way so will not be rushed at all on the day of departure. With the port so close to the airport I'm tempted to go by the port first and drop off our bags before returning the rental. That way we won't have to hassle unloading the suitcases, then re-loading them into a cab to head for the port. For those more experience with Ft Lauderdale, does doing it this way save hassle, or is it just more trouble than it's worth?
FritzG Posted February 20, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2010 That's what we usually do whenever we travel. On our upcoming TA we'll be traveling with my cousin and her DH. The DH's are dropping us and the luggage at the port, and then they will return the car to FLL. It's much simpler for them to get on the Hertz shuttle to port without having to drag the luggage. The airport is very close to the port.
