West End ???

 We will be sailing to Bermuda on Princess, this is our first time and it says we dock in the West end. Do they have different docks for different lines? Is the west end good or bad for things to do? Thanks for any information or advice.

Doesn't have anything to do with the lines. It's what ship will fit throught the Town Cut on the east end. HAL is the only line sending a smaller ship that will fit but after the Veendam's refit, they will be anchoring out from St. George and tendering in.

The west end is just fine since it's close to the south shore beaches and not that far from Hamilton. Fast ferry will take you the the east end if you want.

The West End is generally known as Dockyard and it has two docks - Kings Wharf and the Heritage Pier - these will be used by NCL, RCI, Celeb and Princess this summer. HAL will use Murray's Anchorage at St George and no. 6 Shed in Hamilton.

There are buses from Dockyard to the South Shore beaches, and there are fast ferries to Hamilton and St George (altho' not to St George at the weekend).

I was soooo disappointed in St. George's. Frankly, it was a drag. It looks run down...many closed shops. Ft. St. Catherine was a bad joke. Beach was mediocre.

I know this is a minority view on these boards, but for me, "the emperor had no clothes."
