Jacksonville- Park & Fly

This is an odd question, but one that maybe someone here has experience with.

We are going on a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale on April 18th. We are meeting friends in Jacksonville on the 17th to travel down to Ft. Lauderdale. We will be riding down with them on the 17th, but when we return from our cruise on the 25th we will be flying back to Jacksonville and they will be staying in Ft. Lauderdale for a bit longer.

I see that some of the hotels in Jacksonville have park & stay packages. If we took advantage of one of those deals, we would stay in the hotel the night before and leave our car there at the hotel until we returned on the 25th. I suppose that would be okay, right? Even though we are not flying "outbound" from JAX but would return there. Also, if you have used the park and stay hotels, which ones do you recommend. I am not looking for advice on how to "find" a park and stay package- but rather for advice from those who have already utilized a Park and Stay hotel in Jacksonville. I want the good, the bad and the ugly.

Also, has anyone had experience with any of the JAX airport offsite parking facilities such as King parking? I know there are others. Perhaps a Jacksonville native who flies to other places might know something.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

We have stayed pre-cruise (and left our car) at the Clarion Airport Hotel and Conference Center (ask for a tower room) and at Microtel Inn and Suites Jacksonville Airport. Both were fine and I would stay at either again. Breakfast was better at the Clarion and it is closer to the airport.

My photos from Microtel here:

I don't have any photos of the Clarion uploaded to webshots.

Hope that helps.
