Acapulco Fairmont Princess

Does anyone know how far or how much a cab would be from the peir to the resort? Is it worth it to pay $35 just to use the pool? any reviews would be appreciated.

If you make use of some of the "official" transport options within the passenger terminal, the ride in such a taxi will probably cost you approx. US$45 (MX$400) and take 30-45 minutes (depending upon day of week/time of day). A taxi flagged-down on the street, a block or so away from the passenger terminal will probably charge you $30/35 for the same trip. Taxi drivers almost always bump the price when they hear someone is going to such a resort property. There are no meters in the Acapulco taxi's - so ask for/confirm the trip price before getting in the car - lest you be presented with a hefty request for payment at ride's end.

we understand that the Princess is very nice. We also talked to a couple on a sail away from Acapulco recently that very much enjoyed their day visit to the Princess. If you would like to visit a very nice resort on your visit to Acapulco, you have made a great selection.

Acapulco is NOT typically a favorite port; thus a visit to the Princess could be seen as a great idea.

The port has cleaned up the harassing vendors and beggars as you leave the cruise terminal; which was great!

The Princess is distant, in a hot humid climate, in very heavy street traffic, in a cab likely without a/c.

The princess is on the distant beach left center of pic (thus it is a scenic drive to get there)

We have been there twice and have had a great time. Acapulco is our least favorite port, but once you are at the Princess you forget where you are.

Like was mentioned before, get your taxi away from the pier, much cheaper. We paid $20 one way.

Our driver asked when we would like to be picked back up for our return and was there at the given time. If not, a taxi for the return would not be a problem.

If we learned anything from our 1st trip was to leave your ship beach towels on the ship and instead take your white towels. White towels are used at the hotel. If not they will likely ask you for $40 a piece with no food or drinks included. Not even a coupon book.

Have a great cruise!!!!!
