Fascination- Back from 3/6 cruise

We sailed 2/20 - 2/25 and had a great day at HMC. Didn't experience any more smells than I have experienced on any of our other 6 cruises. When you get that many people in a small space eating that much food, as the saying goes - "S#%t Happens!" You're bound to smell a little something here and there.:)

Since you don't cruies until July, my advice is don't sweat it! Have fun planning and get ready for a great time no matter what happens!!!

Try not to sweat it.;) It will be my first cruise. Ill be on with Aubreys Mom and Michelle1836, so I KNOW we will have a ball even if it smells like S#!T all week and all we do is float on the deep blue sea! Im so excited.

We sailed on Fascination for Halloween 2009 and had not smell issues & we were on the Riveria deck, but mid ship, not at the back. We are going again on Fascination April 26. I sure hope we have no problems as we are taking our mom (Mother-Daughters cruise) . Mom has been sick and we are hoping this will be a great quality time for us, while she is still able to go. Our itiniary is Key West & Nassau as mom has always wanted to go to Key West. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I was on this same cruise...and while I did not have a balcony to comment on that...I had a fantastic time. I guess its all how you look at things. I really wanted to go to HMC but the water was so cold anyhow there wouldn't have been much else to do. At least with the second day in Nassau I got to hit Atlantis and a few other things.

I noticed the sewer smell a little here and there but it was never more then an "eww"...and then it was gone. The staff was incredible so I will definetely have to disagree with op on that one. Our waitstaff at dinner was top notch. And our room steward the same. Everyone knew our names, including our dining room servers and used it everytime they saw us. That was a first for us in 9 cruises. You might have one use your name...but not everyone who was assigned to you.

We traveled with two other couples as well as our children. Not one bad comment about the ship or how everything was handled. The ship issue obviously needs fixed for future cruises and I hope thats done soon. BUt vacation is vacation. We still had plenty of food, fun and good service. I couldn't possibly complain.

So you had time to do additional excursions the second day in Nassau? Did carnival offer them or did you have to book them privately?

Just trying to have a plan...just in case;)

We just went on our own. I wish I could answer if Carnival had them available but I don't know. It seems like there might have been something in the new revised caper we got, but I just remember scanning it quickly. We have just been there so many times we knew what to do. If you've never been to Atlantis, I would suggest going if you have the chance. It's beautiful, has a great casino, aquariums, beach, etc. We just hit all of that on our extra day at Nassau.

I replied to the email Carnival sent me and asked them specifically about the dates of the two cruises that have been mentioned recently. They are adamant that no itinerary changes have been made, and no propulsion problems have been had.

Maybe some of the people on these trips should call them out on misinforming people.

i emailed and asked the same questions and got the same denial. we are on in may-hope that everything is "fixed" by then

We booked the Fascination for February 2011 - after reading all the negative reviews I am scared and about sick to take this ship. Sewer smells will not be something our cruising crazies of eight can handle!!!! Is anyone recently back from this ship - recent as in the last week or so? Any info on the sewer smell and the ship in general would be appreciated.

Well we sail April 3rd. I'm excited about whatever comes our way. I think some people stress before relaxing and having a good time. It's a vacation with family and friends you should enjoy yourself regardless. I always find a way to make the best of anything...if that smell is really bad I'll just blame it on my husband :p So the next cruise will know the smell is just a left over smell from him! hahaha

Cruise #9 here I come!
