Sea Days on Majesty

My favorite cruise ship activity is laying (lying?) in the sun anywhere near or around the pool listening to steel drums and hearing my favorite sound, "bar service"

Let's assume for a moment my worst nightmare comes true and it is TOO COLD    for me to participate.

What else is there to do besides the casino? And please my faithful companions, don't say "ART AUCTION" :p

And about the casino...

I am no professional gambler by any stretch of the imagination. I lost $75 on our honeymoon playing blackjack. Should have read Greg's test rules first. My punishment was a year later my lovely bride would not allow me to walk into the casino on our next cruise. I had to walk up a flight and walk over the casino, to get to the restaurant.

Now my lovely bride is a slot addict. Do cruise ship slots make sense? At land casinos where there is competition she has done pretty well. How about on board ship?

Hello...I am not much of a gambler...

I also look forward to lying around the pool deck sipping on a drink of the day!! I am trying not to worry about the weather because it's freezing here with way too much snow...so I figure it still can't be as bad as this on the ship headed to the Caribbean.... :)

I love sea days!!

There are slot tournaments as well as black jack tournaments. I think the cost to enter is either $5 or $10, my TA usually sends me a coupon booklet that get me a free entrance into each. Also, the casino does offer black jack (as well as other table) lessons, the times will be listed in the Freestyle.

For SEA days there are usually a craft type class, eating, a talk on shore excursions, eating, art auction, eating, bingo, eating, the casino tournaments, eating, game room, eating, library, eating, drinking, dance lessons, eating, gym facilities, eating, spa facilities, eating, ping pong, eating........did I mention eating.

IMO the slots are not a good play on the boats. Not even video poker which has the best odds is very good. Even saw a sign that said 95% payback and that is not good by Vegas standards.

If you know what your doing you cant go wrong with playing $5 hands of blackjack.

I agree, if you learn the basic strategy, blackjack odds are about the best in the casino. Still, even with perfect basic strategy, the odds are still in the house's favor, so you could just as easily lose as win. With smart betting, and proper strategy, it can be a lot of fun without spending a lot of money.
