We arive in Cozumel March 31 from 8 AM to 10 PM. We booked the Dolphin encounter from 11 - 2, but since we will be in port for many hours thereafter, is there a good late afternoon excursion anyone can suggest for a family of 3, (DD is 5 years old). Is there a nice beach near the pier?

Grab a cab and go to Paradise Beach or Chankanaab Park. Chank charges an entry fee. PB is free and only ask that you spend $10 @ on food and/or drinks. Food, and service is good at both places. Check out their websites.

We were there this past weekend. Taxi fare from the Port to PB is $13.00 each way for 1 - 4 persons. Great place to go and have some fun in the sun. My DH enjoyed an hour long massage for $40.00.

Pictures of PB (which is adjacent to Playa San Francisco and Carlos n' Charlies Beach Resort) in the link below.

Have a wonderful time.

Animal57,

Just remember that the Carnival Liberty is on Eastern Daylight time(assuming they don't change the ship's clock) and Cozumel is still on Central Standard Time until April 4th. So this leaves you with plenty of time to enjoy PB (food is safe here,BTW) which along with other beaches closes at 5PM Coz time (7PM ship time). Just double check on the Liberty's Fun ship news(old Capers) about what time the ship is using and plan accordingly. And don't forget to have one of Tom's excellent margaritas! Enjoy your cruise:)
