Bus travel from Monaco to Cap Ferrat

see you soon

Recommended Posts

I have looked at the TAM #100 bus schedule direction Nice from Monaco where our ship docks. We want to go to the Musee Ephrussi de Rothschild at St. Jean -Cap -Ferrat. There is a stop at Cap St. Jean, it appears that would be the correct stop however it would be nice to be sure. If when getting on the bus in Monaco you ask, in rather mangled French, to get off at a particular stop will they call it? Also can you make the assumption that on a two way road, that bus stops going each direction will be in close proximity? Are stops marked with signs? Lastly outside of major centers such as Nice, do you have to signal the driver as he approaches the stop or do the buses stop if people are waiting at the stop? A lot of questions I know, but people who have actually used public transport probably know the answers and it makes traveling so much more relaxing when you know some of the routines. Thanks to anyone who knows and answers.

Yes , yes, and yes. In general all of your quesitons have the same answer. I have never had trouble, if you ask the driver and they are too busy someone will usually let you know that they will look out for you. The people you meet on buses are generally private but helpful. Bus stops are generally near-within eyesight of each other each way and will often have roofs, they will at least have a pole. Look at the one you get off at and look around on the other side for one that looks like it. If in doubt "Ou est la arrete pour la retour" is mangled French for where is the stop for the return?' again, someone will point it out.

Bonne route!

Changing to line 81 perhaps, OP is departing Monaco "Direction Nice". So a change of bus in Villefranche (or Beaulieu sur mer) would be good.

You are right line #81 which originates in Nice will not work for us as we are coming from and returning to Monaco. Just to clarify, we don't mind a moderate walk, and the Cap St. Jean stop appears to be at the northern end of Cap Ferrat, will that stop be sufficient without another bus transfer?

Continued thanks.
