Parking in New Orleans

I would like to know about parking for Carnival Cruise line in New Orleans. Specifically, do's and don'ts from those who know the area or have been there before me. We will be driving in on the morning of our cruise from NW Arkansas, and I don't want to fumble around getting lost. Thanks for any help you can give me.

The problem right now is that the parking area adjacent to the cruise terminal has been closed. They are building a multi-story garage in its place, but those spaces have been lost for the time being.

 

The other problem is that, as part of the construction, about half of the drop-off area is no longer available.

 

As an alternative, you might try this option:

Click on the cruise ship transportation icon. This seems to be working well for those who have tried it.

 

Also, I wouldn't try to get to the terminal before 11:00 a.m. or so. You will be competing with debarking passengers.
