mexico alert

i heard on paul harvey that the us is issuing travel alerts to us citizens visiting mexico has anyone else heard this and do you have any particulars

 

places ect

 

wy wife and i are cruising there at the end of feb (feb 28)

Yes, the State Department did issue an alert on travel to Mexico. They cited violence owing to drug wars, but it was in the northern border states bordering on the U.S.

 

I don't think it applies to any of the tourist areas.

Yes, the alert applies only to our border towns. I am 20 minutes from Tijuana and used to go down there all the time for lunch, beaches, etc. Wouldn't think of going now. BTW, I'm also cruising to Mexico end of Feb and not at all worried. Laurie
