Information on Grand Suite

Hi,

I have searched everywhere trying to get more information on Grand Suite. Have booked Costa Pacifica, and am not happy with the pictures offered on Costa Website. I have tried every internet site but still can't come up with any info.

I am after real photo's, and also more information on what you get extra when you book GS. There is a real lack of info out there.

Is anyone able to help

Many thanks

Try searching for Carnival cruises, although concordia class is different, suites are very similar to what you would see on other Carnival ships. Our grand suite was HUGE, aft, big washroom. Lots of wood pannelling and murano glass light fixtures. Large balcony. Rooms are nice, well maintained, but very simple. Compared to other suites we have sailed on, this was at the lower end in terms of both cabin details and service.

Can't help with photo's but GS is a fair size and nice, usual perks like priority boarding, butler service, (on call 24/7) full meals in cabin including breakfast, bottle of wine, fruit basket, photo at cocktail party, meal for two at Specialty Restaurant, menus delivered to cabin, pillow selection, the Butler will book tours or tables in fact almost anything you ask him/her to do. Lounge for departure and privaleged tendering.

I was on Costa Concordia, sister ship to Costa Pacifica, 2 years ago. I stayed in a mid-ship grand suite. Spacious and comfortable, bigger than Samsara GS.

As far as I can remember, you get dedicated check-in, priority embarkation, complimentary sparkling wine and fruit, one complimentary dinner in the specialty restaurant, invitation to captain's cocktail party. I did not use the butler much apart from asking him to stock up the minibar.

Thanks for the photo's sho. They are much better than the website photo's. Was the balcony very wide, it looks as though it is standard width and double the length.

The size of the balcony is about 5 feet x 18 feet. There are 2 chairs, one coffee table and one sun lounge. The GS balcony on Costa Concordia is smaller than the GS balcony on Costa Atlantica.

The butler will unpack, pack your cases and even clean your shoes if you want.(honest)

If you like a drink I would recommend the J2 OR X1 package, J2,this allows you to raid the fridge, but check first as this varies from ship to ship.

All meals can be had in the room, you can smoke there if you want, there is fresh fruit daily,

24 hour free room service, pillow menu, daily ships newspaper, dinning room menus, iced water, and priority luggage to your cabin.

On arrival at the docks, look for the Suite desk and ask for boarding card number one to enter straight away.

The cabin will have a welcome bottle of Champagne, fruit and snacks.slippers, dressing gowns, umbrella, usual toiletries, free invite to captain cocktail, free meal in the Specialist restaurant and on some ships a 10 euro voucher for the casino.

Down side no free english tv, in the med,or coffee machine/kettle.

Hope it helps have a great cruise.

Thanks Georget, that sounds fantastic. I suppose you speak from experience? Just another question do you know whether if you have the J2 package and dine in your room whether you can order bottles of wine, the same as MDR. Only asking because I don't know what is in the Mini Bar. Thanks

Sorry only ordered breakfast, but in the MDR you have a better, if limited choice of bottled wine, over X1, Alternatively you can order by the glass, this does confuse the staff. They usually bring the bottles of your wine choice in the end.

Drinks by room service, again check, we never used as brought drinks back to the cabin and put in the fridge. Room service will charge for a bottle of wine as over 7 euros.

Mini fridge has beer, water, sodas, and minitures.snacks. One ship allowed minatures others did not. these are questions for your butler as he or she restocks it.

Another point check what you are signing as they sometimes forget you are on X1 or J2 and there is a charge, they have to void it.

Be friendly with the servers and you will be amazed how many drinks you can have.

Hope it helps.

Get to know the Matre'd and ask if you can try out the Samsara restaurant, tell him you have a suite and was thinking of upgrading next time.

Hope it helps
