Things I just learned...just off the Wonder

Recommended Posts

Cruised with female friend, her 7YO son and my 6YO daughter (I left hubby at home for this one)

1. A 3 day cruise is WAY to short

2. Disney is as magical at sea as on land

3. Food was about the same as NCL, Carnival, Princess (I missed sushi

on Carnival

4. My daughter does not like Disney chicken fingers or the Mickey slide

that spashes her in the face (Carnival ranked better in her opinion)

5. Changing dining rooms was a nice experience.

6. Service was about the same as Carnival and Princess - better than

my 1 experience on NCL (not interested in going on NCL again)

7. Early dinner is too early - next time I will take advantage of dine and

play and do late dinner.

8. 800 kids is not an issue for Disney - other than the pool areas

9. With kids this was a great experience - but still pricey

10. The shows were great - even went to one when the kids insisted on

going to kids club - they regreted that after we brought them the

next night

11. Disney was wonderful - but I unless a really good deal comes through

I doubt I will spend the extra money again...just not that much better

than the other mass market lines.

Great post, Sunflower Girl. I'm taking our 4 year old son on his first cruise this September. My husband and I will also have my parents along. Any and every bit of advice will be appreciated! Interesting you said the early dining was too early. We're used to eating dinner around 6:30, and try to get the little one in bed by 8:30. When we booked, we got waitlisted for the early seating. If you don't mind my asking, why was the early seating too early?

Jenny - We also just were on the Wonder (3-day ending on Easter). I agree with sunflower girl that is was WAY too short!!

We have a 5 year old daughter and were traveling with my parents (73 and 87).

We thought the late dinner was MUCH better for the following reasons:

1) let us do more things during the day without feeling rushed to get back for dinner

2) let us go to the early show before our daughter was too tired to sit and enjoy it

3) let her enjoy a quick dinner and then off to the kids club while the rest of us had a leisurely dinner. (She begged to go to the kids club, we did not even suggest it.).

Bed time really didn't mean much on the cruise (and our daughter is always in bed between 7:30 and 8:00 when we are home.) There is just so much to do all the time, we found she didn't get as tired and when she did finally crash, she was out for the night! (also a bonus).
