Bon voyage--did you read about the viewing area in the front of deck 8?

Can't wait for the trip report!:)

Hi folks

All went well on our Air France flight from Paris to LAX. Longer than usual (11H40) since we had to take a more Northerly route to circumnavigate the volcanic cloud.

We are now sipping a G&T at LAX waiting for our AF flight to Papeete (08H25). Is it immoral to have a G&T at 4H45a.m. Paris time ? Hope not, but anyway, we have extenuating circumstances :)

All the best

Welcome to So Cal! Look straight east...That's us waving at you from the top of that mountain about 50 miles away! Sorry about LAX, not exactly the best place to spend the night! Enjoy your flight to the South Pacific and Bon Voyage!

Oh, how nice of you to post! Happy to hear you are out of the volcanic cloud.

No. It is NOT immoral to sip on a G&T at the airport bar. Waiting at LAX practically requires a cocktail. :D

Absolutely not immoral! You are just staying with local time. :) Sorry the flight too so long, wish I would have thought ahead and met you for the G&T... we are only a little over an hour away! Will be extraordinarily jealous when you wake up in FP tomorrow! Glad you are cinder free...

Keep us posted!

Hello Folks

We are now safely on board the Paul Gauguin, several days into our cruise. We are so pleased with everything on board - it has exceeded our expectations. Today we are in Rarotonga but unfortunately, due to strong winds and swells of up to 30 feet our stop here has been cancelled. We have a positive outlook – it just means that we shall have to book another cruise to come back here !

I’m opening another thread in case anyone needs any information live from the ship.

Full report when we get back !

All the best

Wow!! Sounds like a bit of a rough ride, but I'm so glad you are having a wonderful time anyway. We wake up every morning to our current "May Grey" conditions here in Coastal San Diego and think of the two of you enjoying coffee out in some tropical location! Can't wait to hear about your adventures when you return.
