Chairs or lounges at Horseshoe Bay

Recommended Posts

Hi- Yes, There are two different types of chairs for rent at Horseshoe Bay. One is called a Sand Chair and the other is called a Lounge Chair. They are both $ 10 for the day along with an additional $10 deposit on each one. Umbrellas are also available to rent (I think they were also $ 10). A boy from the stand will carry them to the sand for you but YOU must carry them abck and present your deposit ticket. ( I always give him a $1 for each item he carries ). Remember, No ticket - no returned deposit!. So, don't follow your impulse and walk far away from the entrance for more privacy, 'cuz you'll have to drag it back when you're all tired, wet and sunburned  !

Also, please be away that BOTH types of chairs are sand chairs. The lounger just has an adjustable back. These are the chairs that sit right IN the sand. The only way to get out of them is to have someone pull you out or you have to drop into the sand, turn over onto your knees and then get up.

I think they also rent a straight chair that is regular height, but it doesn't adjust, tilt or have a high back. They are the same kind of plastic ones that you can buy at Wal-Mart/KMart for $ 8.

They also have a snack bar($5.00 for a cheeseburger, $ 2.00 for a solda), a small patio for eating, a dressing area with bathrooms, and outside foot fountains.

Hope this helps! - Miriam

One thing I wanted to mention about the chairs is that they are not very nice. The cloth/canvas seats and the arms were black with mold/mildew possibly? Next time we probably won't rent chairs as we want to walk between the beaches anyway.
