Izmir to Ephesus

Ok so there are 7 of us arriving on the Costa Serena in Izmir on 16 June. Is it possible/safe to hire a van and driver to take our group to Ephesus?

Ok so there are 7 of us arriving on the Costa Serena in Izmir on 16 June. Is it possible/safe to hire a van and driver to take our group to Ephesus?

 

There are wonderful private tour operators that will pick you up in Izmir and give you a tour of Ephesus (and other sites as well). Ekol Tours is one, and is fantastic. For seven people, the cost would not be that great per person. I don't know if you can just get a van and a driver somewhere, but having a guide in Ephesus was terrific. She really made the ruins "come alive" for us.
