Cruising89143 Posted June 26, 2010 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2010 It's amazing how small the rescue vessels look in the photo when in reality, they're HUGE.
Evilblah Posted June 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2010 Now THAT's cool. I was looking at the instructions for the chutes when i was running along the track. Cool system, would be fun to buy for the house for parties :D
negrilbride Posted June 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2010 I saw those chutes in action on the "World's biggest cruise ship" special, and they look terrifying. I'm not afraid of heights or thrills, but I would be so scared of getting stuck in the fabric somewhere in the middle. I am not generally claustrophobic, but that would send me over the edge being cocooned in that fabric and unable to go up or down.
Bonnie Voyager Posted June 26, 2010 #5 Share Posted June 26, 2010 Oasis crew practicing their evac drills this morning? That would make a GREAT excursion! :D They could sell tickets AND promote safety at the same time! ;)

Cool system, would be fun to buy for the house for parties :D Looks like they might have replaced the chute after use... so check ebay for "used chute" sales in Ft Lauderdale!! :) Here are the crew life rafts up close...
