Rome (Civitavecchia) Passenger Screening

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if any recent cruisers have information on the passenger security screening process in Rome. Is it handled by RC or the port authority and are Duty Free good available after screening as they are in Barcelona? Thanks in advance. :)

When we boarded in Civitavecchia last September - I think that the ones doing the screening were port employees. We boarded through a tent - there were no items for sale at all.

Ditto for me boarding in May 2010.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the replies and will plan accordingly for my trip next month. You guys are great !! :)

Your Welcome. BTW we arrived around 11:00 - 11:30 and went straight through the boarding without standing in line at all. Very efficient.
