What are Dll's

Recommended Posts

OK, I see what you mean now. In Mexico the Peso used to be called the Mexician dollar. I know strange. But we actually stoll the word dollar from Mexico. They still use $ and dll in writing meaning the peso. The official symbol for the Mexician Peso is MX$.

If the Mexican currency was ever called a dollar I have never heard of it. Since Mexico was conquered by Spain which used the peseta, and the US came into being well after Mexico was already on its way, I am pretty sure that pesos were always pesos.

Dlls is an abbreviation of dollars (always US) that you will find on menus, price lists and so on. Dll is never used for expressing a price in pesos, which is simply $.

Hope this clears that up. :)
