Celebrity Mercury being taken out of service in February 2011: 12/2010 cruise??

We are considering a cruise on the Mercury in December 2010, I just read on the Celebrity website that the ship will be taken out of service in mid-February, 2011. I have always read that it is best to avoid a ship immediately prior to being in drydock; do you think the same advice holds true for a ship being taken out of service altogether? Any advice would be much appreciated!

The ship is being transferred to another portion of the company so there is an incentive to keep it in good shape. When they have transferred ships in the past, from reports of people on these boards the service remained at the same level.

I am on the 14 Feb. sailing as well as the 18 Oct. and the 11 Dec. sailings. If I had any concerns at all, I would not be doing this. She is a wonderful ship with the best crew and staff I have ever experienced. Just so sorry she is leaving the fleet. :(

we sailed on the last cruise on the zenith, and the food and service was outstanding, i doubt you will have any problems.
