karensj Posted February 11, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2005 Does it take a long time to fill up the buses? We arrive at 2:15 in Orlando and have transfers with Holland. Do buses leave even if they are not full? Do a lot of people arrive this late? By the time we get our luggage it will be after 2:30 and with a 45 minutes ride we will arrive fairly late. Is this a good thing as far as embarkation? Thanks. Karen
SueOverend Posted February 11, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2005 Karen, Where does your ship leave from? Orlando is a fair way from most of the ports. I know that Ft. Lauderdale is about a 3 hour drive, but am not so sure about Tampa (maybe 1.5 to 2 hours). Sue
TinaLee Posted February 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2005 Sue - looks like she's on the 2/19 Zaandam, so she'll leave from Port Canaveral - about 45 minutes from the airport.
grannynurse Posted February 11, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2005 but never fear, the ship will wait as you have HAL transfers. We had a heck of a time getting to the pier in NY as there was a bomb scare in '02. We were several blocks from the pier and a HAL rep got on the bus and told us we'd have expedited boarding, this was 30 minutes before the Rotterdam was supposed to sail. I've seen the hold the ship for pax and luggage before. Ruth C's 2003 transatlantic was held for 7 or more hours during the NY blackout. As long as HAL made the arrangements, you're safe.
