LysaC Posted February 14, 2005 #26 Share Posted February 14, 2005 Thanks for the great review..... We leave on the 26th and it can't get here quick enough. Did you stay overnight in Charleston or drive in that day. I am still looking for hotels with a reasonable price... Thanks :)
luvdale Posted February 15, 2005 #27 Share Posted February 15, 2005 We are going on the March 26th cruise, did they do the towel animals at night? We went last year on the same cruise and the steward told us they did not do them anymore. It really would of been nice for a small child to see the towel animals at night, we even offered to pay extra for the animals, it is a nice treat even for us adults. That is part of a cruise that is enjoyed by all, especially for a child's first cruise. What was your meals like???? Last year they were alright, but Disney Wonder has the best food, best cruise I have ever been on. The only reason we are doing this cruise again is to save on airfare, we can drive to Charleston. WaldosPepper Posted February 15, 2005 #28 Share Posted February 15, 2005 It must depend upon the Steward, because on our first three trips on the Majesty we had no towel animals. This last trip we had animals on five different nights. This is the first time we tipped the Steward every night with cash, starting with the first night, so perhaps that had a little something to do with it? Dunno! LenaDaLlama Posted February 16, 2005 #29 Share Posted February 16, 2005 We didn't have any towel animals at all (just turned down bed and chocolates) and our steward was very good and friendly. I suppose they just don't do that. On the last sea day, they had a whole bunch of "activity tables" set up where they would teach how to do things: towel animals, napkin folding, chocolate critters, dough animals & baskets, etc... OldNavy Posted February 22, 2005 #30 Share Posted February 22, 2005 Thanks for the great review! LysaC, we're also on the 26th sailing and are staying at the Hilton near the pier on the 25th. They offer a super deal (for the Hilton) and they provide transport to and from as well as keep your car the whole time! Price wasn't much over $100 for the whole package.
