HAL ships in St.Thomas USVI ?

I posted this in the ports of call section, but with no responses.

Is HAL consistently docking at Crown Bay marina? How many ships can dock there- from some of the pics, it would seem to be 2.

We are due to dock at 8am, while Oasis and Carib. Princess (whom I believe also dock there) are due a 7am.

Will this be an issue? Does HAL sometimes tender in? How "inconvenient" will it be to have Oasis there? :p Any chance we might go to Havensight?

Interested to hear your experiences! Thanks!

Princess and HAL signed contracts to dock at Crown Bay. Yes there are only 2 docks there.

When the Oasis is there -- Princess goes to Havensight -- as least that is what happened last year. And I don't see a change there.

The only time HAL will tender into town is when there are 2 HAL ships and ALL the dock space is gone -- which is not happening when you are there.

You didn't mention what your sailing date is -- but if you click on this link and go to ship schedule -- some of the dates are listed along with ships and where they will be dacked:

Thanks KK.

We are in STT on Jan 3rd, 2011, and according to a few timetable websites, other ships in port include the Oasis, Carib Princ, Disney Magic, and Carnival Vict.

Interesting that Princess got moved to Havensight. Wonder if that's standard, or luck of the draw... especially since we would be the 3rd ship to arrive at Crown Bay. (if Oasis and Carib. Princ are indeed at Crown Bay)

Princess was the first cruise line to sign the contract to dock at Crown Bay.

Princess also has more ships doing the Caribbean during the winter months than HAL has.

The pier at Crown Bay has relatively shallow water.

One side has been dredged to allow ONE large ship to dock there.

If 2 large ships show up - one must go to Havensight.

The Crown Bay pier can accommodate 2 HAL ships, but not 2 ships as large as Princess Grand Class.
