ashtyn Posted September 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2010 We are doing a repo cruise and get off in Colon Panama and I am looking for suggestions from experienced cruisers on different ways to get to PTY. There will be 4 of us and all our luggage. We are sailing with RCCL if that makes a difference. The good, the bad and the ugly please.
jotabecu Posted September 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2010 I have done it through My Friend Mario, you can google them. You make a reservation and they have been reliable and courteous. Enjoy!!!

Richard in Panama Posted September 19, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2010 I've used cabs from Colon to airport. About $50 as I recall for the cab. Regards, Richard
fionan Posted December 24, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 24, 2010 How long does the transfer take, and what would be the earliest "safe" time for a flight from PTY after a morning transfer from Colon? Would a 2.45pm flight be risky? Thanks
Richard in Panama Posted December 25, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 25, 2010 Safest and easiest: ship transfer. If your using MFM they will tell you how long. I'd plan at least 2.5 hours at airport prior to departure time. Traffic in Panama is always totally unpredictable. I'd allow at least 1.5 hours between Colon and Tocumen. Assuming the ship is on schedule and disembark around 9am your 2.45PM flight should work fine. The advantage of ship transfer and flights is that they will work with you should there be a delay. If you're on your own, you are on your own. Regards, Richard
